...but, there were still so many things I wanted to talk about and tell my grandmother before she left the earth. So, I waited patiently until she opened her eyes and turned to me. It was almost as if she could read my mind. She asked me to pull out a box of old photographs from under her bed. When I told her to rest, she insisted...
As I started going through the box, I realized why she wanted me to see these photos before she passed. I had been working on a genealogy project to discover our familial roots for years. She desperately wanted to show me the images of people who were once merely names on a piece of paper. For the first time I saw wedding pictures of my great great grandparents and images of the many memories they made thereafter.
It was at that moment I realized why it's my passion and life's work to photograph weddings. I’m not just taking photos of the one of the best days a couple will ever have, but rather documenting their legacy as it happens. I’m telling the story of the most exciting, intimate and romantic days in a couple’s life. As life happens and the years fly by, our wedding photographs are the only tangible remnants of a day filled with love, laughter, beauty and lots of memories.
